Be Part of Something Big! Volunteer with PBA at IRONMAN Little Elm 70.3!
We are pleased to announce that Plano Bicycle Association is supporting the inaugural IRONMAN 70.3 event in Dallas - Little Elm on Sunday, March 15th. We are hosting an official bicycle aid station on Rockhill Road. This is your chance to experience the race up close and see athletes from around the world and our own local talent compete. You might even see someone you know!
We need your help!
We need 40 energetic volunteers to support Bike Aid Station #3! Bike aid station #3 is located at approximately mile 45 of the 56-mile bike course on Rockhill Road. (Some of you have ridden Rockhill on PBA routes, it is an out-and-back section with a turnaround.) It will be a busy aid station with athletes looking for hydration late in the ride and a morale boost to get to the finish line.
Date: Sunday, March 15th
Time: 8:30 AM – 2:00 PM
Aid Station Duties:
Volunteers will set up tents and tables, pre-mix the electrolyte drink in bottles, set up hydration tables with both water and electrolyte drinks, manage the distribution of the water and electrolytes and keep all trash picked up. After the bike course closes, volunteers will break down the aid station and ensure that the area is clean.
Aid Station Captain:
Each aid station has a designated captain to coordinate duties. Linda Vinson is the captain for aid station #3! Let’s show our PBA spirit and be the BEST aid station!
Who Can Volunteer: Members and their family members (age 16 or older)
How To Sign Up:
You must complete the following steps to volunteer:
1. Sign up on the PBA website here IRONMAN 70.3 Little Elm - Bike Aid Station Volunteer - Events - Plano Bicycle Association.
2. Click https://ironman.volunteerlocal.com/volunteer/?id=102159 to access the IRONMAN volunteer application. Please enter your name and email as requested and hit SUBMIT. You will be directed to the application to enter information about yourself. For organization, list “Plano Bicycle Association” and hit ENTER.
3. At the box “Have a Password” enter PBA and hit SUBMIT. Shift “Bike Aid Station #3” will be displayed. Fill in the requested information for the Arbitration Agreement and hit SUBMIT.
Important Note:
THIS IS A RAIN OR SHINE EVENT! You will be on your feet outside for the duration of your time with us. Please wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes along with a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and weather appropriate clothing.
