Come Ride With Us!
Sunday - 30 November 10AM
WATCH FOR UPDATES DUE TO WEATHER
We will roll at 10AM - please arrive 15 minutes before the ride to divide up groups and for safety announcements
Temperatures look to be around 39F - which is cold. Dress warmly and in layers.
If there is ice in the shaded areas due to the rain the day before we WILL NOT RIDE.
I hate indoor riding -- so I am hoping that we get to ride. However, because of the temperatures we may lose some ride leaders, and have to do a little extra shuffling in the parking lot.
Registration is required for the ride. People cancel overnight -- so if there are no spots on Saturday afternoon -- there will likely be spots Sunday morning.
The Route is a RR/Weather route. Which means, if it is too cold or conditions on the road look bad -- we will cut the ride short and come back to the start.
The planned route is about 30 miles and the rest stop is around mile 15.
If you go with the 1st group, understand that they will average 17-18 mph. All riders in the first group will be expected to participate in pulling the group. Riders at the front will rotate. If you do not know how to pull or do not feel comfortable pulling, keep the pull very short -- but you are expected to learn this skill. If you are gapping and not able to ride with the group -- you will need to wait for the next group to pick you up. Do not burn out your matches - wait for the next group and be able to contribute to that group.
If you roll with the regular groups -- we divide the groups so that we can safely make it through lights. If the group does not feel like it is "gelling", we will break the groups into smaller groups.
Group 1 and group 2 will practice rotating after 3-5 mile pulls. If you do not know how to pull -- you will need to learn, and the folks on the ride will teach you.
IF YOU ARE NEW TO GROUP RIDING - please go with the last group to roll. This group has riders who are able to spend time and explain the nuances of group riding and how to be a safe group rider.
All levels of the Adventure Ride are about learning how to be a better group rider and be better aware of the group around you. Be predictable, no big movements, follow the directions of the ride leader AND the sweeper, be kind to one another -- if someone is doing something incorrectly -- teach them the proper way. Be the example!!! this is how we all get better and have a fun and safe ride.
Please arrive by 9:45AM for pre-ride announcements and group split instructions.
