NOVICE RIDERS!!!!

Come Ride with Us!

Saturday, 29 March

Registration is required at pba.bike

We will roll at 8AM. Please welcome Mike Coble who will be joining the Novice Ride Leader rotation. This week will be his training ride before he flies solo next weekend. Let's all give Mike a nice warm NOVICE WELCOME!!!

The current Saturday weather forecast has a very low chance of rain. Temperatures will start in the 60s and increase through the morning. The key is hydration! Everyone needs to remember to bring 2 water bottles. This time of year the humidity can sneak up on you -- so please stay hydrated.

Please arrive by 7:45AM for pre-ride housekeeping and information. It is very important to arrive 15 minutes before the ride rolls. This will give you an opportunity to check your air, tires, chains, and cranks before the ride starts.

This IS a Novice ride. We will roll at a nice 11-13 mph average. If you are new to group riding, this is a nice easy pace to learn all of the particulars. Maybe you only want to go about 20 miles because you have been off the bike -- this is a nice ride through Plano and Frisco. Come Ride with Us!

For those of you who have been riding and are not ready to move up to Step-Up yet -- we will offer a 8 mile bonus loop after the ride concludes. Bonus loops are still part of the official Novice ride. We will return to the parking lot, and inquire if anyone would like to do some additional miles. These miles are OPTIONAL! They will be at the high end of the novice pace (13ish), so if you struggled during the ride, the additional miles would not be the best choice.

The route this week will be the Novice 20 2025 route - this is a modified version of the Novice 20 2024 route. This new route has some changes to avoid some deteriorating road. The rest stop is right around mile 10.
