How we give back
Over the holiday season, many children dream of getting a new bike. Unfortunately, there are many families that can’t make that happen because of financial difficulties. The PBA wants to make that dream a reality for children whose families do not have the economic means. Through corporate contributions and giving from our members, the PBA raises money to purchase bicycles and safety equipment for children. The PBA partners with numerous organizations across the DFW area who work with these families on a daily basis and helps determine recipients to this program. Each year, the demand for our help grows, and each year we continue to deliver. Since the program’s inception, the PBA has donated over 800 bicycles to charities like The Boys & Girls Club, Plano City House, and Samaritan Inn.
The PBA also provides charitable donations to organizations throughout Texas. In the past, the PBA Board has approved monetary donations to many organizations like Livestrong and City House, among others.
The PBA membership also helps in other ways. Many of our local events require help with their events, and they always know they can count on the PBA to step in and provide assistance. We provide route guides and rest stop personnel for many of the larger charity rides, oftentimes sponsoring one of the rest stops along the route. We also have a big presence in these events raising money for the charities of the events.
We are always looking for additional ways to help where needed. If you are an outside organization in need of assistance, or are a member with an idea of how we can further help the community, please contact a member of the PBA Board and share your idea with us.
